Service History

A bomber squadron within No. 2 Group from September to December 1939, but did not fly operationally. Posted to France as part of the Advanced Air Striking Force (AASF). Returned to England and also to No. 2 Group control in May 1940. Frequently detached to Coastal Command during the period of March 1941 through to August 1942. Fly its last bombing sorties at the end of July 1942 before being posted to North Africa in November of that year
